Sun Studio is known worldwide as “The Birthplace of Rock’n’roll”. It is the discovery location of musical legends and genres of the 50’s from B.B. King and Elvis Presley to Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis; from Blues and Gospel to Country and Rock’n’roll. Today our goal is to spread the story of Memphis’ history and culture through the music that put Memphis on the map.
Windish Music & Productions creates award-winning live entertainment. They specialize in showcasing musicians, stage shows, singers/dancers, jugglers/variety acts, and various forms of world class performance. Through their many partnerships in the attractions and cruise industries, their shows are custom designed with the target audiences in mind. They always dream and always exceed expectations. About the Project
Challenges & Solution
We were commissioned by Windish Music & Productions to produce a short documentary exploring the process and sounds of the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis, TN.
As an interim to their busy casting schedule, Windish Music flew us out to Memphis, Tennessee to document a recording session with some of their musicians at Sun Studio. This short film was also premiered at their Uptown! Alliance event in July featuring music from the 50s and guest speaker Ples Hampton of Sun Studio.
